Dr. Mike Quintans sits down with Jordan Quinones, the head of sports performance at the Physical Therapy and Wellness Institute at Newton Square.

20 - Jordan goes into his background and how he got into sports performance and athletic training. He made a huge jump from a corporate job to a performance coach.

40 - Jordan explains how Crossfit and different athletes helped him on his journey. Working with athletes was his passion.

45 - Jordan talks about the professionalism and value that working with Mike Quintas at PTW Newtown Square more so than other gyms he’s worked with. Because he works alongside physical therapists, it puts his work at another level.

29 - Jordan has had the opportunity to develop his own structure within PTW Newtown Square.

20 - Jordan puts a lot of emphasis on form when moving weight. For a lot of his high school students, he has to translate the importance of movement, not just straight strength.

30 - Sometimes it’s good to allow a young athlete to experiment with an athlete. They might mess up and that’s OK - it’s how athletes learn. It doesn’t matter what sport you play, 80% of what they do in there will benefit any athlete because they focus on the fundamentals.

00 - Even though Jordan focuses on the fundamentals that are helpful for every athlete (and non-athlete), he’ll frame it to connect with different kinds of athletes.

00 - The program also helps athletes with their confidence and personality. That’s more fulfilling for Jordan than anything else.

15 - Equipment doesn’t sell a program - trust does. There is the PT element involved so that if athletes have an issue, there is open communication and you get seen right away.
