Meet the PT: Alanna DiBiasi
What’s your role at PTW Newtown Square and how do you help support our clients and patients?
As a staff physical therapist, I help patients achieve their goals by giving them the steps to attain them, as well as keeping their progress sustainable.
What’s your greatest moment — whether in work, school, business — so far?
Meeting resilient people while working for the military - especially in the Army’s burn center. I met a next-level caliber of people that I will never forget, who continue to motivate me and I aspire to be like one day!
What's your favorite thing about your job?
Working with the younger kids and hearing about their personal, academic, and athletic goals!
How would your 10-year-old self react to your current career at PTW Newtown Square?
I am not sure my 10-year-old self would react - I had no idea where I would be at 10, but now am so grateful to have this career!
What was the moment when you decided PT was your calling?
I shadowed at a nursing home and was inspired by how the PTs worked with their patients. That experience brought me to Widener University, where I found physical therapy, my ultimate calling.
How is this experience different than any other PT experience you have had?
This is different because we really focus on returning our patients back to sport, specific activities, and get to work with higher-level athletes.
What motivates you in life?
Helping others find their own strengths.
Who do you love to follow on Twitter or Instagram and why?
Mike Solomonov because I love food! He owns a lot of popular restaurants in Philly.
What’s your favorite piece of technology?
My Apple Watch!
Where can someone find you on a day you're not at the clinic?
Running by the pier in Philadelphia, rowing on the river in Philly (when possible), or at the Italian market.
What’s the best book you’ve read recently?
What are your podcast recommendations?
TedTalks and Science Vs.
What’s one thing you can’t live without?
